Why Choose me as your Travel Writer?

I consider myself a Unicorn. I don’t have passion, I am passion. As I state all the time, “Many women own several pairs of shoes, God has just given me the opportunity to walk in most of them.” My life has included everything from limos to homelessness, from Stand Up Comedy (opening for Jay Leno to celebrating with Bob Odenkirk for his writing with SNL) to owning a moving company; from skydiving to paralysis. I have survived it all and found inner strength to not only walk again, but thrive on the new experiences.

As a sophomore in high school my mom began to lose her sight and this woman who gave me strength thru her instillment of Faith, who taught me to see the positive in everything with the infamous life lesson, “ If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”, and “Think before your speak – words are power”. I learned to use my words to describe things in a way that created a mental image for her. I never wanted her loss of sight to leave her in the darkness, so I would help to bring the color back into her world. I joined Quill and Scroll, a creative writing group recommended by one of the most passionate and inspirational teachers, Mrs. Eldridge. My favorite experiences came from participating in Speech and Debate where I obtained a Double Ruby Award. I was a successful Stand up Comedian with an Improv group called AH-HA out of Valparaiso, IN at the age of 17, I performed at Second City for 2 years on the ETC stage. You can also find me as an extra in many movies, but the best shot is in Rookie of the Year, when the manager is forced to sell hot dogs ; I take my baseball cap off and give it to another fan. I moved into banking and was part of an automation task force with Citibank troubleshooting the touch screen ATM’s, and teller training of branches throughout Chicago. For a change of venue, I went into imports and exports as an international freight forwarder and customs broker.I had two centrally herniated discs that were bulging against my spinal cord and sneezed. When they ruptured the pressure and force twisted my spinal column and tore my spinal cord leaving me paralyzed from the rib cage down. After I had surgery , I started a moving company as a form of physical therapy that was successful for 10 years. I was involved in an abusive relationship, and I lost everything. Refusing to be a victim any longer, I picked myself back up by going back to school at 47 years old for medical, and obtained an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences, and Certified via AAMA. I’ve had a few medical setbacks myself and am now looking for a less stressful occupation.

Ta-Dah! This Unicorn became a Travel Writer. Inspiring participation in the healthy and social community activity of beach volleyball, and encouraging others to get away from their screens and see the world live and in person. The best way I accomplish this is to travel and share my perspectives of communities across the US. I look forward to sharing my experiences, but more importantly, to hear feedback from others inspired to visit these places. If you like my page, follow me, comment your thoughts and experiences, and help me spread the intoxication of fun with others by sharing my site via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and LinkedIn.

  1. I have been surfing online more than 2 hours today, yet I never
found any interesting article like yours. It’spretty worth enough for
me. In my view, if all site owners and bloghers made good
content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
